Jonathan Falwell Speaks about changing the tide

Jonathan Falwell, senior pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church and vice chancellor of Spiritual Affairs at Liberty, delivered a message of motivation to go out in the world and do something for Christ.

He said Christ called us all to go to the uttermost regions of the Earth, citing Acts 1:8 where Jesus says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Falwell said a “USA Today” article reported 15 percent of the American population today does not necessarily believe that religion is important and have walked away from the faith.

“People are walking away from Christ in record numbers,” he said. “We’ve got to get passionate about changing the tide.”

He encouraged Christians to get serious about the Great Commission by watching what is happening around the world, praying, listening to what God wants for their lives and living a life for Christ. He said problems come every day, but when we live a life for Christ, He will be there to give us supernatural help.

“What an amazing God we serve when we just simply live for God,” he said.

Glow in the Dark Stickers

Hi,

Today is a long day for me but is was all good. Classes as usual and a lot of people in the school. Crazy. Exams coming soon and I'm studying a lot too. Thank God that these exams, the teachers give a study guide and well we students just have to find the answers to the study guide. Cool ah?

Anyway, play basketball today and it was good. Getting to understand the game here, the runs, the plays, and the defense. Cool. After exercising, some of us went to watch a movie. "Fast and Furious". The movie was really good, if you like the almost same story line as the first but with better cars and better car scenes. hehe. Overall, i give this movie a 6.5 out of 10. Sorry, i like the cars and all but the story line is a bit old. The crazy thing about this cinemas here is almost the same price as in Malaysia. Crazy right except if i go to the dollar cinema to watch old films.

Can't wait for the line of good movies coming this summer. Is going to be AAAAWWWEESSSOOMMMEE!!!! i know i have to study but there is a time that i have to play right. Is to release stress levels.

Alright is late i got to sleep, so till then nighty night.

Dinner Table Full of Dresses

Hi,

Today school just got more busier. The school has invited high school and college student to the school during the weekend. So these people are going to spend time with us for several days which means a lot of people. There was so many people till you couldn't even see the floor or see ahead of you. Just like fish packed in a small bowl of water. Is all good though, because the school have to look good for them to "impress" so that they will come to a decision to study here.

The school i tell you is noise heaven and is loud. hehe. I'm not complaining here, just tell you guys. anyway, school day was appointment-ful. Had a lot of appointment with my student adviser, class adviser, work adviser and financial aid adviser. So much right. Man is crazy. Classes were also fast, thank God. Over all my day has been pretty up tight. And i'm more than hanging on.

Now i'm studying and so till then nighty night.

Ron Luce encourages liberty students to be dreamers

Ron Luce, president and founder of Teen Mania Ministries, which sponsors the popular Acquire the Fire youth rallies, spoke at Wednesday’s convocation about the battle of dreams going on between the secular world and Christianity.

“The more in love with Jesus you fall, the more out of love with the world you fall because the world really has nothing,” he said.

Citing Ephesians 3:20, Luce said God gave Christians the ability to have a creative imagination and they must weed out the “dream killers,” such as the media, computers and the Internet, dumbed down reading and gossip magazines and people or family members who discourage dreams.

“They steal your dreams by stealing your time,” he said.

Luce went on to say Christians should be careful not to become paralyzed by the ordinary. He told students that 98 percent of people in the world follow culture and only 2 percent of people go out and shape the culture.

“Dreamers are not ordinary people, dreamers are people that shape the world. Dreamers are people who make a big change. They resist the ordinary,” he said.

Not only are there big dreamers such as Martin Luther King, Jr. and Steve Jobs, but he said there are dreamers who are out there to work against the will of God and there needs to be strong Christians to counter that movement.

“Step out of the normal boring path,” he said. “Are we not dreamers? Can we not dream God’s dream?”

He closed with a challenge for students: “Whether it's education, politics, entertainment — whatever realm you might go into — dream a dream for God.”
