Jonathan Falwell Speaks about changing the tide

Jonathan Falwell, senior pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church and vice chancellor of Spiritual Affairs at Liberty, delivered a message of motivation to go out in the world and do something for Christ.

He said Christ called us all to go to the uttermost regions of the Earth, citing Acts 1:8 where Jesus says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Falwell said a “USA Today” article reported 15 percent of the American population today does not necessarily believe that religion is important and have walked away from the faith.

“People are walking away from Christ in record numbers,” he said. “We’ve got to get passionate about changing the tide.”

He encouraged Christians to get serious about the Great Commission by watching what is happening around the world, praying, listening to what God wants for their lives and living a life for Christ. He said problems come every day, but when we live a life for Christ, He will be there to give us supernatural help.

“What an amazing God we serve when we just simply live for God,” he said.
