Night to Remember...

Hi,

My day is so sound a sleep. i had the best sleep ever. Must be all the energy i put on Friday, Saturday and Sunday effort to make it possible for two people to be together in marriage. And also the carnival to be a prefect event for all people which went quite sour but end up a great success in many ways. So i slept at 1130pm to 2pm the next day. It was great sleep, really went into deep sleep.

Went for lunch by myself, today weather was also good. Not much sun. After lunch, my mom came back home. And ask me to do this and that. So i had work than. Apparently the car that my mom use is shaking at 80km. So is not a good sign. I have to send it to work shop. Knowing my driving, you all. Is crazy right? Well i couldn't take it, driving below 80km, is hard for me. Put the car in the work shop and walk around ss15. Didn't want to go to caber cafe. Cause don't want to waste money. So i went to Jay's house, just to hang out and chill there. On the way there, i met Matthew. He was with someone. In Jay's place, i played Rock band. I'm quite addicted to the game now. Beginning to play medium and some times hard. Really enjoy playing it. Jay at that time was making lunch. So i play the solo. Hmm...saw Jay lunch and it looks like a man's dish. (A man's dish has no vegetables, but has meat cheese and the occasion have egg and not so often bread). Looks yummy though. But i had to go already cause the car was ready.

Walking to ss15, i met so many homeless people. It angers my heart that these people have legs and hands that is functional, and they do not want to work. Is just sad that these people choose to life this way. So i went to the work shop, wait for half-hour there. Went to Taipan to take picture of me for my visa. The shop did the job so fast. Within 15 minutes all done, from taking photo to developing it. This is technology at it's best. Technology is getting faster everyday.

Came home. Wanted to play basketball today. So i quickly put on my gear and i was off to the basketball court. I was really surprise in my shooting, It is getting even better and better. Looking it. Learning to shoot 3 points again after so many years not shooting 3 points when i finished school life. Well I'm gearing up myself to play in college in US, i want to be good player. I'm one of those athlete that will always come to practice on time and stay back late to train some more. I want to good in what i do. will work hard at it.

Went back home early cause i got a dinner with my aunt cause she wants to see me off before i leave to US. Went to the dinner place with my cousin Ben Chia and family. I really enjoy my dinner, had the best duck meat. After that, went to Ikea cause my dad wants to buy a mini laptop, and so other stuff. So we went to Harvey-Norman. Hang around there till my dad made up his mind to buy it together with a new camera. We eat a mini supper at A&W. Yea i know is not coke that i drank. But i have no choice. Eat and went home.

We have to drop of my Aunt cause she didn't drive. As we were about to leave, the van break down. i thought to myself that crap that we have to call AAM. So my parents and my cousin and me pray. And then it was able to work again. But the van was not 100% healthy. Hey man is a 11 year old van, Still powerful but well is time to change. So all the way back to USJ 11, it was running on the batteries. I think my dad and my cousin say that the van dynamo is not charging the batteries or something, which means that the van cannot be stop. Once stop, the van may not be able to start up again. So we all pray that the whole journey home would be a green wave(traffic light green). God is really good. it did happen. We have no stop at all till we park the van in the house. So my dad say tomorrow must send it to work shop, once again i have to sent it to the same work shop that i sent the car too. ISH. Tomorrow busy day.

Once at home, My cousin drop me off at Tanjung. Yea, my cousin is not staying with us. Anyway, i was meeting up the guys and girl for supper. Me, Ben, Jay, Philip and Natasha. We had around the world conversations. Talking these and that and whatever.

Now, I'm back home, is raining outside now too. Talk about timing man. God is really good. Cause after the supper i had to walk back home. It didn't rain till i reach home. Thank You, God. Now i might sleep or play some games. So nighty night

Giant Works..!

Hello,

My day is one busy and stress day. I slept so late yesterday night that i could hardly wake up for this morning Sunday. But thank God that i didn't over sleep cause of the wonderful creation man has made is a alarm clock. It sure wake me up. Wanted to go to church early but my body just say no. So i sleep for another half-hour. Shower and went downstairs to realize that the van is gone. Thought my parents wanted to use the van today. Then i went to the kitchen and my mom was there. Now i really realize that I'm in even big trouble cause of the C2U carnival is today. Grr...ish!! So my plan is going to turn out ugly.

Why did i sleep late? Cause i was testing out my 1terabyte hard disc, whether is working or not. Thank God that the hard disc is working fine. Besides that my mom wasn't ready to go to church and my dad has already left for Sea Park early in the morning. So i have to quickly made so calls to get transport to church. I hate this happen. If my mom got ready slightly earlier, then i can use the car and drive her to Puchong church then drive it to Sea Park to exchange with my dad for the van. But thank God that i can get a ride with Aunt Jo to church.

My day is just getting warm up. So i have to tell people that my van is not available to use for the carnival till i get it soon. Which is around 1pm. Worship practice this morning was pretty fast and straight forward. Worship and Word today was great. Even though i didn't catch much of the Word cause there was a small problem with the toilet upstairs. Is not jam up(shit cannot go down) or what. Is just a minor problem, the flusher is not working cause the chain is broken, so i have to repair it. ISH. So i couldn't do my duties at the afternoon for the carnival cause i got no van. During the whole service i have to keep calling my father hand-phone. My dad didn't pick up cause he is preaching. hehe.

Later i got him, pick me up and then it started to look like is going to rain. I prayed all the way to Puchong to drop off my dad there and all the way to ss14. On the way there, it really started to pour down. Went to Jay's house to wait for the rain to stop. About 30 minutes it stop, so we start preparing the games. As we are about to start, the rain really pour down heavy. It rain so much till 5pm it stop. Yea...great joy to all of us. But is also going to end of the carnival. Anyway, the games corner, were a total sell out. Everyone i think has at least put all their money on games. i think we manage to reach more than 200 coupons collected for games. I think many people had fun today even though it rain. Around 5plus pm, i had to pick up the kids but i thought to myself that i pick them up come here about 540pm, they play around till 620pm then sure have to back then. So i nearly wanted not to pick up the kids. But change my mind about it. Is for God not for me. So i went down to PJ to pick up these kids. (they are not your regular kid, these kids come from broken homes and so on, you know the backstory la).

Went back ss14, have little fun, times up, pack up, sent kids home, drop stuff and have a dinner by myself. Went to eat Ramil burger. It was great. Miss it. now,I'm going to sleep, cause time to charge my batties. hehe. See you guys soon. nighty night

Unsaid Words

Hey,

Today is so long and filled with busyness and little bit tired. But is all full of joy and happiness all day. Is nice to see two people getting together as a married couple. See how nice they dress and the decorations that make the day prefect. Especially a church wedding. A lot of ideas are popping out of my head now, what to do for my wedding and plan it well, haha.

My day started out at 8am. With only 3 hours of sleep. So I'm sleep deprive. But i told God to grant me energy and strength through out the day. So i had breakfast at home and rush to church. Did my devotion in church. Is so peaceful and silent in church and there is different presence doing devotion in church. Like can feel God is already in church preparing hearts and planting seeds. So i finish my devotions. Did my rounds as on-ing all the lights and air-con and check things are in order. Set up the systems and arrange the chairs nicely.

People started walking in around 9ish. And many things weren't done yet. So i quickly get the chairs done and test the mics and instruments. Sze Gion give his ipod and thumb drive. So i faster load it up in the computer, play the music and everything was prefect from there. I suit up today quite funny, wearing a orange shirt and tuxedo(look like those lion dance people, hehe). But poeple say i look smart. Well is points, hehe. So went is time to start. There was a small hiccup, which is the during the processional. Where i nearly play the wrong song, some more people could heard it but thank God people didn't really notice it, they might think is apart of the processional. So the whole wedding turn out was great and everything went super smooth.

Later, was the cleaning, I'm really glad to see, all our church members help out in the cleaning. And job turn out to be 1 hour. Great Job guys, God sees you servant hood, He will grant you many blessings. Then after that, i went to Jay's place to test out the carnival games. We manage to do it in 1 hour, all solve so easily. And i still have loads of energy. I didn't complain about me being tired, i just say that i slept for 4am. Oh well. Went home shower, took a power nap, woke up and quickly do the some adjustments to the carnival games. Went to Jay's place, test it work. And we are off to the wedding dinner. Had to go to the dinner early cause i have to set up the projector and songs with the help of Jay of course. So i have to bring all the necessary gear to produce sound and video. Then Philip surprise me. By saying that he already brought the 1 terabyte and give me at the wedding dinner. He some more came early. i was overwhelm went i saw it. I drool over it. Holding it for the first time is so precious. over excited and at the same time have to do work.

There was some few complications, but nothing that Jay can't handle. Jay is good with his music and computer stuff. So we manage to set it up and everything went smoothly again. There are small hiccups here and there but manage to cover it up. The wedding is nice and funny also. I think i drank like 20 cups of coke. I think is almost one 1.5 liter, i think. I enjoy myself there. But i can't think over it that i got my 1 terabyte. God is great, He truly bless His people. Just need to pay Philip the remaining cash. hehe.

So I'm testing it out now, and it works super. Love it. is so simple to use. I just copy and paste. and the hard disc works as wonderful as it was brought for me. hehe. Hope to be bless somemore but God.

Next week is going to be one busy day for me. Cause i have to go for the interview and hopefully get accepted and able to go. Hope to get the tickets done also. So continue to pray for me. God bless, nighty nighty

Unicycler.

Hi,

My day is pack. Have to do so much running here and there. Thank God that i have so much energy to run here and there and still be active through the day.

Basically my day start out like this, in the morning i went to Alliance bank to pay the fee for the visa interview. Is so crazy expensive. Like 500 riggit. Ish!!! Thank God i went there in the morning. Cause there is less people and easy to park. The parking i found in USJ 9, is just right in front of the bank. And i didn't need to wait long for my turn. Everything was done in less than 15 minutes. See how God can do in your life.

Later in the day, i have to wait for my mom to come back. Cause i need to run around to get stuff for the carnival. Know what. My mom came back home early. She went for some kind of meeting, she say to me that this meeting is about 3 hours long. But in the end, she came back early. Like 2pm. So from 11am to 2pm, i was busy doing my applications and booking air tickets. I quick get the car and rush off to the places i need to go. First stop, Aunt Jolene house. To collect from her some stuff to use in the carnival. Went there and take it and go. Went to USJ 2 to buy straws and ear buds, also for the carnival. Reach there, got down, went into shop, say two words straw and ear buds, give it to me instantly and pay, lastly went home.

I decided to drop by at church. Cause they were doing some decorations for Anne & Sze Gion wedding. Went there to hang out. Is amazing the decorations are nice and bright. Led by Pat, i think. But i didn't stay long. Cause i want to go off to home. Been out the whole day. Went home and thought myself, i got so much energy left, why not play basketball. So i went to my new basketball court outside my house. The dimensions of the court is small and surprising is that is so easy to shoot. All my shots were sinking easily. Every where i stand at the court was a sure score from me. Later some people came and want to play match. So i just team up with some of the guys. And they were shock too. Cause all my shots, all score from 3 pointer to 2 pointers everywhere. Is like raining basketball. I made friends with them. Hope to plant a seed in them. hehe

Came back home to realize I'm late for the practice, Anne & Sze Gion wedding. i quickly shower and rush there. Turns out i was slightly late by 5 minutes. Thank You, God. To my shock that the decorations were still not done and there is more to be done. So i help out, me being OCD at the right time. hehe. Practice for the worship also was fast and easy. Then we continue with the deco. End up staying at church till 12am. ISH!!!. Well right now still having a lot of energy. Will plan my day. So see you then. nighty night

All Caps On

Hello,

My day today suppose to be a busy one. But it turns out to be quite relaxing. God can some how change plans for you in that day. Like today, i didn't know that it is a public holiday. So everyone was off in Selangor not for Kuala Lumpur people. Happy and sad at the same time. Today weather seems nice at first then it turn ugly. Still there is so much to do and so tight in planing to go to America.

I was suppose to go to do some payment today but as i type up there, it was a public holiday. So didn't do it. Just great. So my morning is basically lazy around. Played a lot of "games", end up losing track of time. Having a late lunch, sucks. Every thing that is good are left to none(went it comes to eating chinese food). Than i realize something very important. That i can't turn up for my Life group cause i'm doing PA for Anne and Sze Gion Wedding. ISH. Bad me. So i have to inform him. Some more on Friday itself, out Life group is suppose to finish up the games for the carnival. Man, is work work work. Then have to move it today. The testing of games. So i have to rush to get material today.

I ask God to help me find the materials i need. I believe that God provided me with the van today, my dad didn't go to work today cause is a public holiday. Than i call up Daniel and Zach Siow whether they want to go out. So they agree. i drove to their places with ease cause all the way i got a green wave(traffic lights all green). I took Daniel first cause Zach Siow was not free at first. I think God has place in my mind that Asia Cafe has a lot of cans. So i went there with Daniel. And God was right. They have a lot of cans and it's even not crash yet. So i just ask the owner to give me 30. And he gave me with a happy face. But the slight downside was that the owner charge me so expensive. Is like 30 cans for 5 riggit. If i recycle these cans, i will only get back about 2 riggit. Expensive. A side from that, I fine with it cause i just need them no matter the cost.

Later i pick Zach Siow up from his place to hang out in Summit for awhile. Wanted to check out the Jerseys there. We walk around and ask around. Okay okay. Going to get it soon. Anyway, went to McD to eat high tea. Chit Chat there. Invited them to my place cause later is basketball time. So they hang out at my place. Just to find out that the weather turn against us. It rain. Rain like nobody business. But it didn't break our hearts. So i brought them to Jay place. Just to help out in the games. So we tested the games and all. It works fine. Thank God was fast. Then after all that, we Rock Band. Well is really a fun game. Till Jay have to go out for supper with other friends.

Sent the kids home. Come back to shower and rest a little and play a lot more. And now going to take my rest. Feeling sad now cause it rain. And i want to play basketball. Morning train la. hehe. Okay nighty night

5 Comic Superheroes Who Made a Real-World Difference

1. Superman Defeats the Ku Klux Klan

superman0.jpgIn the 1940s, The Adventures of Superman was a radio sensation. Kids across the country huddled around their sets as the Man of Steel leapt off the page and over the airwaves. Although Superman had been fighting crime in print since 1938, the weekly audio episodes fleshed out his storyline even further. It was on the radio that Superman first faced kryptonite, met The Daily Planet reporter Jimmy Olsen, and became associated with “truth, justice, and the American way.” So, it’s no wonder that when a young writer and activist named Stetson Kennedy decided to expose the secrets of the Ku Klux Klan, he looked to a certain superhero for inspiration.

In the post-World War II era, the Klan experienced a huge resurgence. Its membership was skyrocketing, and its political influence was increasing, so Kennedy went undercover to infiltrate the group. By regularly attending meetings, he became privy to the organization’s secrets. But when he took the information to local authorities, they had little interest in using it. The Klan had become so powerful and intimidating that police were hesitant to build a case against them. Struggling to make use of his findings, Kennedy approached the writers of the Superman radio serial. It was perfect timing. With the war over and the Nazis no longer a threat, the producers were looking for a new villain for Superman to fight. The KKK was a great fit for the role. In a 16-episode series titled “Clan of the Fiery Cross,” the writers pitted the Man of Steel against the men in white hoods. As the storyline progressed, the shows exposed many of the KKK’s most guarded secrets. By revealing everything from code words to rituals, the program completely stripped the Klan of its mystique. Within two weeks of the broadcast, KKK recruitment was down to zero. And by 1948, people were showing up to Klan rallies just to mock them.

2. Popeye Helps America Survive the Great Depression

popeye0.jpgEveryone knows Popeye’s secret. Whenever the cartoon sailor is on the verge of losing a fight, he squeezes open a can of spinach, pours the greens down his throat, and uses his supercharged muscles to pummel opponents. But fewer people know that the U.S. government is directly responsible for his dependence on canned vegetables.

In the 1930s, America was mired in the Great Depression, and the government was looking for a way to promote iron-rich spinach as a meat substitute. To help spread the word, they hired one of America’s favorite celebrities, Popeye the Sailor Man. It was a smart plan. In all of the comic strips to that point, Popeye’s superhuman strength had never been explained. But with the government’s campaign in place, Popeye was suddenly more than willing to share the secret to his strength. Sure enough, soon after Popeye took up spinach, American sales of the mighty veggie increased by one-third. Better still, American children rated it their third favorite food, right after turkey and ice cream.

But it wasn’t just spinach the government was endorsing. They were also pushing the merits of canned food. U.S. officials wanted Americans to know that cans were the perfect way to stock up on emergency rations.

While Popeye should be applauded for persuading a nation to eat its greens, he did mislead people a bit. The government’s enthusiasm for spinach was based in part on the calculations of German scientist Dr. E von Wolf, who’d discovered in 1870 that spinach contains iron. When calculating the results, he misplaced a decimal point, thereby making it “official” that spinach had 10 times more iron than it actually did. Not until years later were these figures rechecked. But by then, everyone was downing their spinach, hoping to be as tough as Popeye.

3. Captain Marvel Jr. Saves the Bad-Hair Day

capt-marvel-jr.jpgLike most American kids in the 1940s, Elvis Presley fantasized about growing up to be like his favorite comic book superheroes. But it turns out that The King might have been more interested in their fashion statements than their special powers.

During his early teen years, Elvis was obsessed with Captain Marvel Jr., known as “America’s most famous boy hero.” A younger version of Captain Marvel, the character sported an unusual hairstyle that featured a curly tuft of hair falling over the side of his forehead.

Sound familiar? When Elvis set out to conquer America with his rock ‘n’ roll ways, he copied the ’do, thus making it one of the most famous hairstyles of the 20th century. But that wasn’t all. Captain Marvel also gets credit for the short capes Elvis wore on the back of his jumpsuits, as well as The King’s famous TCB logo, which bears a striking resemblance to Marvel’s lightning bolt insignia. Of course, Elvis never tried to hide his love for the Captain. A copy of Captain Marvel Jr. #51 still sits in his preserved childhood bedroom in an apartment in Memphis, and his full comics collection remains intact in the attic at Graceland. Plus, the admiration was mutual. Captain Marvel Jr. paid tribute to The King in one issue, referring to the singer as “the greatest modern-day philosopher.”

4. Donald Duck’s Scientific Breakthrough

donald-duck-0.jpgIn 1966, Danish engineer Karl Krøyer developed a method for raising sunken ships off the ocean floor by injecting them with polystyrene foam balls. However, when Krøyer tried to license his invention with the Dutch patent office, he was denied. Donald Duck had beaten him to the punch by 22 years.

Indeed, Krøyer’s concept could be traced back to a Donald Duck comic conceived by Carl Barks. In addition to being the most celebrated artist of the Donald Duck comics, Barks was known for his scientific prowess. So in a 1944 story, when Donald got a bump on his head that turned him into a genius, the duck managed to mumble, “If I mix CH2 [a methylene compound] with NH4 [ammonium] and boil the atoms in osmotic fog, I should get speckled nitrogen!”

Although it sounded like nonsense, it wasn’t. In 1963, chemists P.P. Gaspar and G.S. Hammond wrote a technical article about methylene that included a reference to the Donald Duck story. The final paragraph read, “Among experiments which have not, to our knowledge, been carried out as yet is one of a most intriguing nature suggested in the literature of no less than 19 years ago.” A footnote revealed that “literature” as the Donald Duck comic. It seems the web-footed children’s hero had deduced the chemical intermediate long before it had been proven to exist.

But why were these top American chemists looking to comics for inspiration? Apparently, Dr. Gaspar had been a lifelong Donald Duck fan, and he’d rediscovered Donald’s early reference to methylene while collecting old copies of the classic adventures. Gaspar never disclosed how much his work owed to Duckburg’s most famous resident, but then again, how many scientists would confess that they used comic books to bolster their research?

5. A Spider-Man Villain Keeps Folks Out of Jail

kingpin.jpgIn a 1977 edition of Spider-Man, Peter Parker has the tables turned on him. The villain, Kingpin, tracks down Spidey using an electronic transmitter that he’d fastened to the superhero’s wrist. Although Kingpin loses in the end (he always does), one New Mexico judge saw beauty in his plan. Inspired by the strip, Judge Jack Love turned to computer salesman Michael Goss and asked if he could create a similar device to keep track of crime suspects awaiting trial. In 1983, Goss produced his first batch of electronic monitors. Authorities in Albuquerque then tested the devices on five offenders, using the gadgets as an alternative to incarceration. Today, the transmitters are a common sight in courtrooms across the country, usually in the form of electronic ankle bracelets. Most famously, Martha Stewart donned one while she was under house arrest in 2004. Perhaps she would have felt better knowing that the gadget had once nabbed Spider-Man, too.

Face to Face Off

Hi,

Spinning around, out of my head, going going crazy for you. YEA!!! YEA!!! hmm...today was just one long long long long long long day. Is amazing that you can do so much in one day. From morning to night with no naps in the afternoon. God given energy and power over me to use it for my daily use. So times i just don't understand why people can be so tired. Not enough sleep. Humans just need roughly 7/9 hours of sleep. And is not sleeping at 11pm sleep nor 12am sleep. Sleep beginnings at 1030pm max. Now I'm trying to sleep at that time. And i realize that i wake up the next day i feel more active and energize. If you sleep more that 7/9 hours you tend to be more sleep and lazy.

So i started my day with a health creal meal. Love eating coco-crunch. Then went around doing the payment for my visa interview. So many payments needed to be done. Try to do it all in the morning. Oh before that, i went for basketball/training. Man, it feels good. Love to train. I love training so much. Is like from school years again. I always have this mentally, faster, better, stronger, and more power. It gets me going to be a better athlete in me. Train like 4 hours. Man it really feels good.

Anyway, my afternoon is really long. I spent it with Jay. Searching for stuff for the Carnival. that our church is organizing. Well we meet at ss15 then we went to KL, China Town. I didn't know Malaysia has a China Town. it was a first for me. Even going to KL on a bus is a first for me again. Sitting in the bus with filled with people. Wanted to chit chat with other people. But it turns out the people sitting next to me are sleeping or Malay/Indian(I'm not racist, just my Bahasa Malaysia isn't awesome to start off). So i decide to do some site seeing on the bus.

Once we reach that place. It was fill. Pack with humans. WOW. Not all Malaysian. I haven't eaten my lunch yet. So i choose to go eat at McD. i enjoy my meal so much. Is been weeks not haven't McD. After munching down all my food. Is time to shop. So we went to store to store finding what we wanted. Going back to same stores over over again. Not that we cannot decide what to buy, is just the stocks that are left and the price. It was really pissing us of cause of the prices of the stuff we brought. Things now a days are so expensive. Thank God we found a store that sells quite cheap but they have not enough stocks. Well. We spent there like 2hours plus.

After all the buying, is time to go home. We don't know the bus route that goes to subang. So we ask around. Thank God we found the buses that leads to home. it was near by too. We waited for Metro bus 10 to get the ride home. Man i think i took like half an hour for that bus to come. The bus came went Jay decide to stand up. hahha. Hop on, the bus ride was quite fast. Wave to Jay good bye went his turn to stop at ss14. I really enjoy myself at KL today. I had my share of fun there. Came home and straight away shower. Cause it was raining a little in KL. Check my emails. And went out again to help my mom buy food back. Eat. Play a little games. Now going to bed. Till then nighty night

So more my mom is like bringing me everywhere to buy winter stuff. Ish. So much to do in so little time.

I meet up with a fellow American. to get along the ropes to obtain a student visa. Met him at Pyramid with my mom. So we have our conversation, on this and that and everything American. Got the information i need to do my visa. So tomorrow is going to be crazy. Tomorrow is making all the payment i need for my visa.

I want money for christmas presents. Unless is something useful for me to use in America. Will put out a list. hehehe. Oh i forgot, i treat myself a razer mouse pad. I'm loving it so much.
