Coming to an End

Hi,

i got about 10 days of school left. My heart is rising with excitement that school is about to end. But i have to tame this joy of mine because it is not time yet. The time now is to focus on my studies and determine to score well for Jesus Christ because everything i do is not for my glory but for Him.

i got so much to study but so little time already but i know my stuff. But i cannot be to over confident with what i study, need to continue to study some more and more till the day of exam is over.

Today there is no more classes already from now on. Cause is final exams week. So i basically hang out around the library the whole day doing studying, checking email, finding out details of this and that and more studying. The whole school today was quite empty. So people have already finish with their exams and have went back home already.

i'm still waiting for my ticket or booking. I so want to go home and enjoy the food, friends and family. God please open up the airlines that are cheap for me to go back this summer, so that i don't waste money staying here doing nothing. God please.

I took a small break from studying with a good workout. I think i have burn quite a lot of calories going to the gym this whole 3 months. And is worth it. I feel good about myself and after that i study better because of all the endorphins. hehe.

Anyway, is already quite late here, i did my a lot today so i best that i let my mind rest. Till then nighty night.

Miss USA runner-up visits LU convocation

April 29, 2009 : Dominique McKay

Carrie Prejean, the reigning Miss California, made a special appearance at Liberty University’s Wednesday convocation in a sit-down interview with Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr., who asked her about the bold choice she made to stand up for her faith at the recent Miss USA Pageant.

After making it to the top five in the pageant, Prejean was asked a question from guest judge Perez Hilton, a homosexual activist blogger, about her beliefs on the topic of legalizing same-sex marriage in each state.

Prejean responded with the statement, “I think that in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

Prejean finished runner-up in the pageant.

At Liberty, Falwell asked Prejean, a student at San Diego Christian College, how she felt on stage that night.

“As I was standing on that stage I felt so alone, I felt like I was up against the world. I saw Donald Trump sitting there in the front row, my family, my friends were nearby — millions of people were watching it on national television. I was so nervous …” Prejean said. “They instructed the question to Perez Hilton and he then asked the question, and from there I just knew that I was either going to please man or please God.”

Falwell praised Prejean for standing up for her beliefs.

“To me, it’s scary that we’ve come to a point in this country where somebody like you is castigated for supporting the institution of marriage between a man and a woman — something that most Americans support — and it just shows all of us what our challenge is in this next generation to turn this country around. We deeply appreciate what you did and for standing up for what you believe,” Falwell said.

Following convocation, Prejean was scheduled to join Mat Staver, dean of Liberty University School of Law, and Matt Barber on their one-hour nationally syndicated radio program, Liberty Live, that will air from 4-5 p.m. on American Family Radio and broadcast with video online at www.afr.net.

Chancellor delivers "State of the University" address

April 29, 2009 : Dominique McKay

Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr. addressed Liberty University students for the final time this school year at Wednesday’s convocation, where he shared the current state of the university and plans for the future.

In his speech, which he finished writing at 1 a.m. this morning, Falwell praised the student body for the register-to-vote campaign they joined last semester and the Liberty Champion staff for its recent tabloid publication showcasing the impact students can have on local elections.

Falwell also spoke about the solid financial footing of Liberty University and the decision to lower the current tuition rate by nearly $6 million, saving about $500 per student. This year, while many other universities raised tuition rates, he said, Liberty took into consideration the national economic downturn and made the decision to help students with families who had experienced financial troubles.

Falwell said by the 2000s, Liberty experienced an explosive growth in student enrollment and campus size and last summer the decision was made to limit enrollment. Now, as the university enters “a new phase of history,” Falwell said the focus will be on academic excellence in Liberty’s facilities and programs.

“The original vision of Liberty University was to create a worldwide university that is distinctively Christian. The vision was to have academic excellence, world-class facilities, NCAA Division I athletics — everything that’s offered by major secular universities but with an overriding commitment to biblical truth and morality,” Falwell said.

In the weeks and months to come, Liberty will be unveiling many projects, including the new Thomas Indoor Soccer Complex, the Snowflex year-round ski slope, a building expansion for Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, renovations for the Visual Communication Arts department and a new performing arts center.

Falwell also announced that the tennis courts are back on schedule to be rebuilt on Campus North and that the Career Center will be relocating onto the first floor of Arthur S. DeMoss Learning Center, in the space that formerly housed the university bookstore. There are also future plans to relocate the School of Business onto the fourth floor of DeMoss Hall.

“Our commitment is to continue to improve Liberty’s reputation so that as you go through your careers your Liberty education will become more and more progressive to you,” Falwell said.

All Wrong Moves

I don't see Ryan Renolds at all like deadpool.

Yea, he has the body but he doesn't have the face of deadpool

deadpool is disfigure because of his cancer interacted with the process that he went through the weapon x program. Also, it made him mentally unstable.

so he is the dark twisted minded funny half good-evil hero that is suppose to wear a suit that covers his whole entire body including the head.

Eject to Safety

Hi,

Can count the days to summer. Is exciting but also sad. i wish that my final exams is now, so can get over and done with it. The level of anxiety is to much to take. I know that i can do well in my exam, i just want to do it now. Not, wait and study some more. Is to much. I think i need to workout to kick in some endorphins. hehe.

Pray for me to get a air ticket back to Malaysia. My current situation now is that i can't get air tickets home. A lot of them are fully book and the level of stress to find one is also building up. Doing two things at the same time it takes a toll on me. Thank God for parents to help you and connections with people i know with the CBC is good. =) Just pray that they can get for me a earliest ticket home.

Anyway, have to study and maybe take a break too. So till then nighty night.

Hi,

I got one more week of school then is I'm done. I'm still deciding and is to much decision. I think i would most likely back in a next next week. Unless i book everything by Thursday that it would be good.

School today was pretty alright and is up tight so hard. I just have three more final exams to go. I got English then Bible then Math. All three on separate days and is exciting and intense too. My heart is just racing for wanting to school to be over but also wanting it to last forever too.

Spending here for the last three months plus. Still feels like I'm in a dream and can't hardly believe that I'm here in US, doing well in studies and having a great time too. Unimaginable.

So much to do to prepare to go back and go through the process of going back home.

Anyway, i got not much time to post this because i got to study for a test, not final exam. So till then nighty night.

Wade Morris delivers convocation message

April 27, 2009 : Dominique McKay

Itinerant minister Wade Morris spoke at Liberty University’s convocation on Monday, offering words of guidance for students dealing with transitions in their life.

“There are times in life when things don’t work out exactly the way you want them to, and you’ve got to learn to make the transition,” Morris said.

Morris is the author of “The Journey,” an expository Bible study and devotional series on CD. Originally from Birmingham, Ala., he received his master of divinity degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and served on staff at several churches before surrendering to a full-time call to itinerant ministry.

Citing John 21, Morris told students there are three things they should always remember. First: learn to recognize Jesus.

“When you recognize Jesus, regardless of how big or how small, he will do amazing things,” he said.

Next: learn to love Jesus.

“How do you prove to Jesus you love Him?” Morris said. “There has to be something that you do to get deeper and deeper in love with Jesus Christ.”

Last: follow Christ — no matter what.

“If you see Jesus and how He’s going to move and how He will move, and you get deeper and deeper in love with Him, ultimately you’ve got to know God’s call and the true message of discipleship is not how you start the race — it’s how you finish the race,” Morris said. “And it makes all the difference.”

David Edwards speaks at Friday convocation

April 24, 2009 : Dominique McKay

Students will be leaving Liberty University’s campus in just a couple weeks for summer break, and at Friday’s convocation David Edwards, author and speaker, gave them a message of encouragement in dealing with the transition and change that they are likely to endure.

Edwards travels around the country speaking to young adults about issues relevant to this generation. He has been a featured speaker for City Wide Weekly Bible Study Groups in Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia and Florida. He is the author of 14 books and has written a tract called, “How to Make Life All Good.”

Using the account of Moses’ life in Exodus 4, Edwards told students there are four major points to remember during a time of transition. The first was to handle the power God gives them with care. He said Christians must take responsibility for the role God has given them.

“At the moment we open our lives to Christ … we gave up our rights ... we no longer have rights; we have responsibilities,” Edwards said.

He then told students they must keep their hearts clean, and they must be careful of what the world encourages them to do. He said they must keep a close watch over what they allow to enter into their hearts.

“Whatever lives in us will leak out of us,” he said. “Whatever lives in us will find its way into the choices we make.”

Lastly he said Christians must honor God’s personal counsel. He said they must be willing to submit to God the direction of their lives and to remain teachable.

“Are you willing to submit success in your life to the Lord and say ‘God you own it, and I don’t?’” he said.

PET, People's Choice!!!

Hi,

Today is good, just finish up one class and now 3 classes left for me till final exam. I'm going to miss all the people that i made friends with. 3 months of summer break is really long and well if you waste your day is short. Anyway, I'm still pushing on, things are getting really tough. Work load, assignments due, workout, free time all have to be perfectly balance and it is hard doing that. I thank God that He has in built me with a internal time management device in me. hehe So some how I'm doing good in all my classes and i can really see the GPA going up and up till rings.

Anyway, i talk to my adviser about the honor program and it has to be taken next year spring. So i still have time to prepare for it. Also, i ask about whether i can play squash for the school, they say they will look into it but it has to start inside the school level which means play with LU students first till it grows into an interest then only it can be a school sport. Hopefully something can be done. =)

Besides all that, should i go home? still in this dilemma and things are leaning towards home. Because is hard getting a job here and is best not to waste money here too. still trying hard to get the job, been going to the human resources center and complaining to them till then know me personally. Not going to give up till they give me every job on campus, hehe.

So do pray for me. =)

Oh been drinking a lot of PET milk here (uncle Rodney, PET also produce drinkable products too beside their usual product for cooking) PET is quite alright is unlike the dutch lady milk. Drinking the chocolate PET is tasty compare to their normal PET milk.

Anyway, i got to sleep, been working out to much till I'm tired. So till then nighty night.

Trap in a Box

Hey,

Man is just another two week left to summer break. So much to do like studying, finding job, signing up for next fall semester classes, housing and so on. All have to be done. Thank God that I'm at top at things.

As far as studies, I'm doing pretty well, with good scores and good attendances, i can smell a 3.5 and above GPA on my transcript. Now, I'm been thinking of this is that should i do a honors program? I know is good for my transcript and and a lot of scholarships. But i want so badly to be a school athletic. Going to see my adviser on these things and whether i can be both. It will ease a lot on the money be paying next year.

All this scores, shows the Lord Jesus Christ blessing in my life. I think i couldn't done it without Him. everyday pushing me forward thinking of my main goal. Taking each class at a time. And making sure that i do my homework on time and studying to know what I'm doing. Some times i wonder why wasn't i like that in school? i think Malaysia has many distractions for me. hehe. Or maybe everything here is straight forward and understandable.

Besides all that, i in a dilemma now. It is that to stay here or go back home to Malaysia for summer? First let me explain, summer school here is expensive because Liberty Uni is a private school. It is not a state school. So doing summer classes are like doing spring and fall semester prices. So that option is out. Second is finding a job here during summer is crazy. I have been applying to so many jobs areas on campus and is been on the waiting list to long. I started at the mid of school and no reply. All my international friends are having this same problem. A sad face for me, =( and i think that they are being biased. Only giving to those they think that can speak English. I think they see Chinese name straight away they put on the waiting list. Because i got a friend, who is from England. He got a job within 3 weeks from applying it.

i like to stay here but i will be wasting a lot of money if i done get a job or study which is a waste of time. I really like to go back and enjoy the tasty food like bak kut teh, chicken rice, mee goreng, lobak, white noodles and so on. Also, to spend time with church members and of course family. Back home, i can help out in the ministry and do things. But of course, i won't get to see friends that are in Australia studying.

What do i choose? and i think I'm beginning to lead towards coming back home.

Anyway, i think i made you guys and gals help me decide for me. I will pray to God about it and also pray harder to get a job. And sleep is calling me, so till then nighty night.

Jonathan Falwell speaks powerful message, borrowed from his dad

April 22, 2009 : Dominique McKay

Dr. Jerry falwell, Sr.'s sermon lives on ...

Jonathan Falwell, senior pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church, brought back the memories of his father, the late Dr. Jerry Falwell, Sr., at Wednesday’s convocation with the same sermon of encouragement his dad preached at the end of every school year.

“All of you have been called by God into a specific area of ministry,” Jonathan Falwell said Wednesday. “It’s such an encouragement to see you students of Liberty University truly become what dad talked about when he started this university, and that is becoming young Champions for Christ.”

He recited the questions his father had told students to ask themselves: “What would I do if I thought I might succeed? What goal would I set if I knew I could not fail? What price am I willing to pay, and what sacrifices am I willing to make?”

“These are the four questions my dad wanted students of Liberty University to remember, and so today I want you to remember these questions as well,” Jonathan Falwell said.

Reading from II Tim 1:7, he told students that God does not want them to live in a spirit of fear but in a spirit of power. Taking queues from his father’s sermon, Falwell said God wants Christians to be bold, not to focus on their own problems, and to believe that He can do the impossible.

“With God all things are possible and without Him life is impossible,” Falwell said.

He told students that they are the only ones who can know what God’s will is for their lives, and they need to commit themselves to Him daily by reading His word.

He cited John 16:33, which says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have tribulations, but take heart. I have overcome the world.”

He encouraged students to remember his father’s words, “Never, never quit.”

“The battle has already been won,” he said. “Christ — when he stretched his arms out on that cross and paid the ultimate price for us — he won it. Now all we’ve got to do is fight it.”

Under the Pile of Sky

Hey,

Pretty alright day was super tired though because i didn't have enough sleep. That is another reason too. Because my roommate was up the whole half of the night. i think he slept at 3.30 am in the morning which was insane. And he had no respect for me, singing to loud music and talking so loud. So i was quite erratic and moody. Not depress. But that. Thank God that i didn't blow up on anyone. Didn't do much talking today or did much today. Just wanted to get done with classes and homework fast and rush home as fast as possible, take a really hot shower and dry my hair. Quickly settle in my bed for a good late afternoon nap.

I just woke up like 2 hours ago. Just to post this up and send some email and maybe watch some shows.

Things in school is getting a bit having many irons in the fire. Busy la. Cause is just about one more week to exams finals. Many of the classes of my classes have finish with test, it is not exams, just test. Now is just waiting for test.

Anyway, I'm still cooking up the list of food that i need to take went i get back home. i know one thing for sure is that I'm really graving for good Malaysian Chinese rice. The rice here can't compare to any Asian country at all. Is like 3 out of 10. Total suck out. But i still eat the rice because it is the only element that is close to home even though they have Chinese food also but it can't compare to home food or any Asian country.

Besides all that i wish you all a blessed night till then nighty night. =)

Students hold special worship and prayer convocation

April 20, 2009 : Dominique McKay

Sounds of Liberty
Center for Worship House Band

As the last full week of classes began at Liberty University Monday, students prepared their hearts and minds at a special worship and prayer convocation.

Liberty’s Campus Praise Band set the mood for the service as they performed with a combined choir that included choral groups from LU’s Center for Worship, the Department of Ministry Teams, LU Praise members, student members of the Thomas Road Baptist Choir, and the University Chorale, Concert Choir and Chamber Singers. Students joined in the worship, singing “Makes Us One” and “In Christ Alone.”

"It was a joint effort of hundreds of the musicians on campus this morning. Praise the Lord!" said David McKinney, campus worship pastor.

Sounds of Liberty, one of Liberty’s traveling ministry teams, performed “Lord, You’re Holy.” Sounds of Liberty is made up of six vocalists, a five-piece band and an audio technician. The team performs nearly 100 concerts year and has ministered in some of the largest churches and organizational events in the country.

Dr. Joe Crider, professor of worship and music at the Center for Worship and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, spoke to students about what it means to engage in true worship.

“Worshiping [Christ] is an intentional decision — a choice every single one of us face every single moment of every day,” he said. “Worship is a response to a relationship that we don’t deserve.”

Dr. Joe Crider

Crider joined the Liberty faculty in fall 2007 after spending nearly 14 years as the worship pastor of Second Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri.

High in the bleachers behind the main stage, Liberty’s Worship Orchestra then performed “Make Me Glad,” “Sweeter” and “All Hail the Power,” along with the Center for Worship House Band.

The Campus Praise Band closed the convocation with “When I Speak Your Name,” “Revelation Song” and “You Saved Me.”

Fighting the Fight of Sleepiness

Hi,

Monday, every one most sleepy and blues day. Well my day was mostly alright. Pretty much enjoy it. Classes went smoothly. Just 4 more exams to go till school is over. i got Bible, Math, English and Kine exam. Math and Kine is easy. Bible and English is medium easy. It is intense thinking about these exams and studying hard for them. Doing homework after more homework. Making sure every homework is well done and excellence, so i can prove that is not me that i do but is God working in me that do these great work.

After classes went to workout. Good workout to release the tension and maybe stress in me. Looking at myself at the mirror, i think i have gain pounds and muscle but still look the same size. Maybe taller. Have to measure. hehe. Is really amazing that i see the changes of my lifestyle. I guess i'll be a whole different person went i get back. For sure I'm still crazy for coke, McD, Nike, and God. I think my character has been molded a lot, i tend to think more, take action more, and somethings has grown in is listening. Taking God more seriously, has taking me new levels that i can't imagine and is still guiding me through the process of my life.

i have been thinking a lot and asking a lot too, whether should i do another major in ministry? But what ministry, pastor? youth? worship? mission? the lists goes on. Also, have minor in sound(PA). i need prayer on this, would you guys pray for me on this. I will of course finish up my kines major but my consciences tell me to study more. you guys can comment or email on this.

Besides all that, today at convocation, is good of course but it was heart heating up. The theme for today was worship and it was good. It speaks so much. Will post later.

Anyway, i got to sleep now. Got to wake up early tomorrow to study and study and work hard. Till then nighty night.

Bernice King, daughter of Martin Luther King, Jr., speaks out

April 17, 2009 : By Teresa Dunham

Liberty University had the privilege on Friday of hosting a dynamic woman who represents two Kings.

Bernice Albertine King, the youngest daughter of renowned preacher and civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., spoke at convocation about her dual role as a representative of her father’s “King” legacy and also as a servant of the Lord — the ultimate King of Kings.

“Today is a special day that we’ve waited for all year. We’ve looked forward to this,” LU Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr., said in his introduction.

Later, Falwell said that he believed Bernice King helped "to bridge the divide that was created between different groups of students during the 2008 election season. For example, she gave a strong Gospel message today. African American Christians and white Christians have been separated into different political camps in the last generation or so but they share many of the same core values, especially when it comes to social issues like abortion, marriage and school vouchers."

Like her father, King is a servant of Christ and highly-educated, holding a master's degree in divinity from the Candler School of Theology and a juris doctorate from Emory University School of Law. She is also an eloquent orator who spoke before the United Nations when she was only 17.

Since that time, King has spoken everywhere from The White House and the Department of Defense to the headquarters of DuPont, AT&T, NIKE and The Salvation Army. She has appeared on the Oprah Show, CNN and BET, and she has been featured in magazines such as “People,” the “Ladies Home Journal” and “Charisma.”

She said the Holy Spirit has revealed to her the unique meaning of her initials, B.A. King. For her, “Be A King” means that she — and all believers around her — should not shy away from their rightful place as a representative of Christ. God made His people to be kings and priests on the earth, she explained in her convocation message. As believers, she said, people can act from a place of authority if they’re living in God’s will and motivated by him.

“There has to be a consciousness of the fact of who they really are,” she said of believers.

Her father, following Christ above all, was a king on earth, she said. When he spoke, people took action, and attitudes began to change. She even went a step further and called her father a prophet.

“I believe that my father was perhaps the only national prophet sent to America,” she said, recalling how he challenged America to live up to its Judeo-Christian roots both through his words and actions.

The legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is much broader than his “I Have a Dream” speech, she said. He understood that he was acting under the authority of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Everyone has a duty to understand that God is calling for kings in the earth, she said, referencing Jesus as the “King of kings and Lord of lords.”

She called Liberty University a place for “kings-in-training.”

“You are very blessed and highly favored to be at an institution such as this. … Bloodlines have been blessed through this institution,” she told the students.

Kings have great authority, she said, adding that one of the most potent weapons God has given them is their mouths — to speak up. Speaking can make things happen, and she said it can also inspire creativity, just as God’s act of speaking brought the earth into existence.

God’s people need to find their territory of action and begin operating toward their divine assignment, she said. For someone who doesn’t know what it is, she said it helps to take an inventory of the events in your life and figure out the direction that the hand of God has been guiding your path.

The time is coming in America when Christians will be persecuted, she said. People have spent too much time caught up in denominationalism, King declared, saying that God is looking for his people to have one voice united for him. Right now, she said, Christians aren’t exercising a strong influence in the entertainment industry, education, politics or even family values.

Believers must accept their identities as kings of the earth and future residents of God’s kingdom, she said, and they must take a stand for what they know is right.

“Accept your identity. You’re a king. Don’t ever see yourself as a subject. You’re not subject to anything but Jesus Christ and his Holy Spirit,” she said. “… All you have to do is know who you are [in Christ].”

In addition to her busy schedule as a popular speaker, Bernice King now serves full time at the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in a suburb of Atlanta. She is also a member of the State Bar of Georgia.

Anyway, I'm going to sleep now and sleep some more till i can't recover. hehe, so till then nighty night.

A Series of Underline Skittles

Hey,

Today was just a bit stressful nevertheless great. Had a written exam for my Bible class. Is not tough because the questions are quite similar than what i learn in Tung Ling. But the Bible classes here are deep. Learn so much, like Paul's background and other books backgrounds. Just very deep and so interesting.

I didn't do much. Woke up late because i can now cause i have only one class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Panic a little because most of the computers in the lab were not working and i needed to print something for my Bible class. Thank God, the computer experts manage to solve the problems.

After class, study a little for my other exams coming. When for dinner later and then went to gym. Had a good tough workout. i feel more lean than before. Can't see any visible shape or muscle structure yet but getting there, hopefully by the end of the year is more visible. My training on my jump is improving too. Is awesome to able to touch the ring now with three fingers. Can't do it with two hands but one can. With two hands I'm just below the ring or rim. Close can feel the rim though.

Okay i know i haven't talk about my spiritual walk for a long time. Is going strong then ever, with my new devotional blog up. You guys can see what i read and learn in scripture. =) God is Awesome in so many ways and levels that i can't even imagine how He does it. I feel my spiritual life is gets better. I'm still amaze that God has brought me here to study and then later to do His will. What to pray for me?

1. Pray that i can get a job on campus for this summer (really need it)
2. Pray that i continue to push on studying to finish this race well
3. Pray that doors be open in the worship ministry here doing PA, still didn't get the place. =(
4. Pray that i can find a good and cheap car (well this is more of a want)
5. Pray that i wouldn't be tempted to be lazy and stay focus on God
6. Pray that God will provide me the needs i need.
7. Pray that i don't do things on my strength but lean on God for guidance.
8. Pray that find good friends here that are willing to help me out with things.
9. Pray for me to continue to have good health and stay strong and focus.
10. Pray for me to find....(guys you know) =)

i guess i pretty much listed down the essentials. Continue to stay focus on God people because He will only pick those who stay faithful and obedience to Him. I feel like Paul, always giving a strong conclusion to the people he is writing too.

Tell the people that i send greetings to everyone in CBC and people i know. God loves you

Till then folks, nighty night.

Yesterday at convocation

Dr. Ed Hindson, dean of the Institute of Biblical Studies at Liberty University, challenged students with the question “Who is Jesus Christ?” at Wednesday’s convocation.

Hindson has been a professor of Religion at Liberty since 1974 and is a Bible teacher on The King is Coming telecast. He also serves as president of World Prophetic Ministry and has published many books, including the most recent, “Global Warning.”

“Throughout your experience in years to come, the question of who Christ is will be raised again and again and again,” he told students on Wednesday. “And your commitment to Him will be challenged, not only by intellectuals, but it will be challenged by the experiences, problems and difficulties of life.”

Hindson said there are many critics of the faith who will say Christ never really claimed to be God. But throughout the book of John, Hindson cited seven different accounts of Christ doing just that.

The first example can be found in John 8:58, when the descendants of Abraham question Jesus and ask Him who He is. He responds with the statement, “Before Abraham was born, I am.”

Throughout John, Jesus continues to claim the Deity of Christ as he tells others He is the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Door, the Good Shepherd, the Resurrection and the True Vine.

In John 14:6 he says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.”

Hindson closed by encouraging students to learn who Christ really is and to live for Him.

“If you are going to make it in your Christian walk, it’s not just a matter of saying, ‘I’m going to try harder, I’m going to do better, I’ll be a champion,’” Hindson said. “It’s a champion for Christ, not [for] yourself.”

SAMFORD’S DR. ROBERT SMITH DELIVERS MESSAGE

Liberty University welcomed Dr. Robert Smith as its Good Friday convocation speaker. Smith, an associate professor of preaching at Samford University in Alabama, said that “Good Friday is only good because we know what will take place on Sunday morning,” in reference to Easter Sunday.

Smith gave the analogy of a turtle on a fence post to explain how salvation works.

“If you see a turtle on the fence post, don’t think it got there by itself, because turtles don’t climb fence posts. Someone put it there,” he said.

When people become Christians, they are lifted up and given a free pass to heaven, just as the turtle received a free ride to the top of the fence post, Smith explained. This salvation is a free gift that should have more influence on Christian lives than any life circumstances.

“The word of God may not change circumstances for you, but it will change you,” Smith said. “You have access to God because of what Jesus Christ has done.”

Up's Down's

Hi,

Today was good also, warping up some exams and I'm also done for this semester. Awesome! Getting less and less classes already. I think i got only about 4 classes left. All smiles for me = )

Going to the gym more often. Working out feels good, getting some endorphins going. =)

Oh today at the exam, as i was finishing up my paper, as i was coloring the answers in the answer paper. The teacher came towards me and saw some papers on the floor which was my study notes. So the teacher thought that i cheated but i explain to him and he understood also that it was quite impossible for me to cheat because the notes was under my sit. So i thank God that He gave me a understanding teacher.

Anyway, i got to go. Got to finish up some homework and study and yes, most needed rest. =)
Till then nighty night.

Still in Awe...

Hey,

Today and every other day seems great and good even though tried-ness is getting into me. Thank God that school is coming to a end and of course feeling sad because don't get to see all friends and also studies. Classes today seems so easy and light maybe because exams are just around the corner.

It's been already four months that I'm here already. I'm still amaze that I'm here studying and I cannot believe it. This is so much like in a dream and it feels like a dream. Many of you would know because i always talk about America and the schools here most of the time for two years of my free time. Still in shock, in awe, in amazement, and in a dream. I really think that this dream is going to go on forever till i finish school here.

But overall, i thank God that He has brought me here, i thank God that i waited for His command in my life, i thank God for the prayers that the church and friends prayed for me, i thank God that i obeyed, i thank God that I'm doing well and above well, i thank God that this school fits me so well, i thank God for the hearts of the teachers here, willing to teach, i thank God that i made friends here, i thank God Liberty University is such a amazing school that one's to change the people a degree at a time. I really thank God.

I still feel now that I'm still in a dream. I still believe that you guys should continue to pray for me and the rest that are overseas studying now as i and i believe the rest are also praying for you guys back home. Prayers are important. Don't stop because overseas here to we need to share the gospel. I can say that pray makes the world go round.

So you know what to do, i'll be back till then nighty night. =)

P.S i miss you guys a lot. 8 months more. believe it or not, i sometime cry at night just wanting to see the many smiling faces that i know. i counted 3 times. hehe =)

Miles McPherson motivates students

Miles McPherson, president of Miles Ahead Ministries and pastor of the Rock Church in San Diego, Calif., encouraged students to be careful of the deceptions of Satan.

As a former NFL player with the Los Angeles Rams and the San Diego Chargers, McPherson experienced his fair share of what the world had to offer him. After years of living an immoral lifestyle filled with drug use, McPherson realized he was empty inside and in 1984 decided to give his life to Christ.

In 1992, he began Miles Ahead Ministries to reach out to youth and in February 2000 the Rock Church held its first service.

Reading the account of the Fall of Man in Genesis 3, McPherson told students Satan is a mastermind in deception. Satan speaks to Eve in the Garden of Eden and deceives her into questioning God. McPherson said her first mistake was speaking with Satan.

“He had no good intentions. His name is destroyer; he wants to destroy you,” he said.

In Genesis 3:7-9 Adam and Eve try to hide themselves from God; McPherson said Satan makes people believe they can sin and hide it from God.

“Every time you sin, you think you will get away with it,” he said.

McPherson said sin is fun for a season but Satan will never tell of the pain that will be endured afterward.

He closed by saying God has a plan for every person’s life and as Christians it is their job to obey Him.

“God loves every single one of you beyond your wildest dreams, he doesn’t want you to hide from him, he doesn’t want you to run from him,” he said. “[God says] ‘I want you to let me restore you to a right place, I want to show you all I have planned for you because what I have planned for you goes beyond your wildest dreams of what you’ve ever asked for.’”

That is the same dude that preach during Sunday but he also preach a different message which is good. =)

Indanger Person I Become...

Hi,

Great day, finish of some papers. the stacks of studying for exams just continues to get lesser as exams are already here. One small step for me as my grades are looking good. Hopefully getting a good GPA, will post it up went the final grades are up. =)

Studying has somewhat grow in me and at times still lazy to do things. But studying has become a urgent thing in my life more than important.

At this same time, I'm having fun with my new toy. i can say that animal crossing is quite addictive. Now i got something to do during my spare time. all smiles for me =) summer is coming, I'm not so ready for it. Still looking and searching. But God will guide me to it as always. =)

oh now, in me getting a bit annoy with my roommate. everyday, he must talk to his whatever people he is talking to the computer. everyday in and out so loud. My head can just explode. So next semester, find a quite and a little chattie roommate would be good.

So i got nothing much to post but till then nighty night.

No Shooting,

To Good for Fame

Hall of Fame opens its doors to greatest ever

Jordan taught sports how to pursue championships with ferocity and flair, style and grace. He always treated Sacramento in February like he did Madison Square Garden in the playoffs. Jordan was an industry, a movement, a happening. As much as Kobe Bryant and LeBron James chase each other, they also chase Jordan’s legend.

On Monday, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame welcomed Jordan as an elected member. Hours before his North Carolina Tar Heels play Michigan State for the NCAA title in Detroit, Jordan was introduced with the class of 2009 at a news conference.

They shouldn’t just give Jordan a plaque in Springfield, Mass., they should give him a wing. Truth be told, they should’ve let John Stockton and David Robinson and Jerry Sloan wait one year. They should’ve let Jordan into Springfield alone. He is too big to share a stage, his legacy too immense to be shared with Vivian Stringer.

The Basketball Hall of Fame is too political of a place. The voting belongs to insiders and the membership reflects it. The Hall of Fame should be for greatness and dominance, not the politically connected. It’s an insult to Jordan to have to share that shrine with faceless administrators and clownish TV hacks. Nevertheless, Jordan delivers a dose of credibility to sports’ most flawed Hall.

“I’m guessing the vote was unanimous,” Tim Grover said with a laugh on his cell phone Sunday.

Grover is the famous fitness guru out of Chicago, whom Jordan trusted with his most vital commodity: his body. Grover has a gym there, where he worked out ballplayers, but Jordan changed everything for him. When everyone else was gone – the adoring throng, the players, the press – there was Jordan and Grover. Sometimes, they were at Grover’s gym. Sometimes, they were on the road. Always, they were together. No other basketball player made a generation understand that greatness was an around-the-clock, around-the-calendar job.

“Michael would go for 40 or 50 points one night, and the next morning he was right back at it in practice,” Grover said. “He just couldn’t take a day off. His mental toughness was unbelievable, but the reason was that he was so physically ready every day. He used to have a saying, ‘I practice so hard because that makes the games easy for me.’ ”

Jordan’s legacy are the talents he spawned: Kobe, LeBron and Dwyane Wade. The next generation is so directly linked to Jordan, so influenced. Grover happened to be in Los Angeles on Sunday visiting Bryant, whom he’s called a client for several years now. The most direct descendent of Jordan on the planet, Bryant emulates him in every way: from his game, to his obsessive need for dominance, to his speech inflection.

Grover happened to be traveling with Bryant when he broke Jordan’s visiting scoring record at Madison Square Garden in February. Kobe dropped 61 on the Knicks, had a 2½-hour meeting with Spike Lee about a documentary in a hotel suite afterward, and wouldn’t you know it: “Kobe was back in the gym at 7:30 that next morning with me,” Grover said. “That’s the mental toughness that Michael had. They just always feel like that if I don’t work out, I just won’t feel right. Something will be missing in my day.”

Basketball is blessed with Kobe and LeBron and D-Wade, but Jordan remains a singular talent, a phenomenon, a generational happening. He was a confluence of events, a post Magic-Bird perfect storm for the NBA. The Hall of Fame will have a plaque that tells the pertinent facts: six NBA titles, five MVPs and 32,292 points.

Funny, but those things don’t stay with his old trainer the way the feeling of Jordan does.

“The one thing that I haven’t seen from anyone else yet is the sense that people felt on a day there was a game in Chicago,” Grover said. “People would start to get excited at 7 and 8 in the morning. It didn’t matter if you were going to be in the arena for the game. People would want to see Michael on the expressway to the arena. Just to see him walk into the building, people would flock to come watch. They would be waiting outside and thinking, ‘What’s he going to be driving? How’s he going to look?’

“They just wanted a glimpse. It was an unbelievable show.”

Michael Jordan goes into Springfield in September, and maybe they shouldn’t just give him a plaque – or even a wing. They should turn the whole building over to him. For one night, anyway, that should’ve been the plan. No shrine could ever do justice to his genius. You just had to be there.

This written message is so true and what it says. Jordan can't be compare and he is to great of a legacy. He totally change basketball forever. That players today want to be like Jordan and are trying to left a legacy like him.

In a way, this can be applied to Christians. Jesus Christ left us himself in us the Holy Spirit to be influnce to be more like Jesus Christ everyday. dieing in the flesh, gaining more like Jesus Christ.

Anyway, i'm a Jordan fan. =)

Jonathan Falwell Speaks about changing the tide

Jonathan Falwell, senior pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church and vice chancellor of Spiritual Affairs at Liberty, delivered a message of motivation to go out in the world and do something for Christ.

He said Christ called us all to go to the uttermost regions of the Earth, citing Acts 1:8 where Jesus says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Falwell said a “USA Today” article reported 15 percent of the American population today does not necessarily believe that religion is important and have walked away from the faith.

“People are walking away from Christ in record numbers,” he said. “We’ve got to get passionate about changing the tide.”

He encouraged Christians to get serious about the Great Commission by watching what is happening around the world, praying, listening to what God wants for their lives and living a life for Christ. He said problems come every day, but when we live a life for Christ, He will be there to give us supernatural help.

“What an amazing God we serve when we just simply live for God,” he said.

Glow in the Dark Stickers

Hi,

Today is a long day for me but is was all good. Classes as usual and a lot of people in the school. Crazy. Exams coming soon and I'm studying a lot too. Thank God that these exams, the teachers give a study guide and well we students just have to find the answers to the study guide. Cool ah?

Anyway, play basketball today and it was good. Getting to understand the game here, the runs, the plays, and the defense. Cool. After exercising, some of us went to watch a movie. "Fast and Furious". The movie was really good, if you like the almost same story line as the first but with better cars and better car scenes. hehe. Overall, i give this movie a 6.5 out of 10. Sorry, i like the cars and all but the story line is a bit old. The crazy thing about this cinemas here is almost the same price as in Malaysia. Crazy right except if i go to the dollar cinema to watch old films.

Can't wait for the line of good movies coming this summer. Is going to be AAAAWWWEESSSOOMMMEE!!!! i know i have to study but there is a time that i have to play right. Is to release stress levels.

Alright is late i got to sleep, so till then nighty night.

Dinner Table Full of Dresses

Hi,

Today school just got more busier. The school has invited high school and college student to the school during the weekend. So these people are going to spend time with us for several days which means a lot of people. There was so many people till you couldn't even see the floor or see ahead of you. Just like fish packed in a small bowl of water. Is all good though, because the school have to look good for them to "impress" so that they will come to a decision to study here.

The school i tell you is noise heaven and is loud. hehe. I'm not complaining here, just tell you guys. anyway, school day was appointment-ful. Had a lot of appointment with my student adviser, class adviser, work adviser and financial aid adviser. So much right. Man is crazy. Classes were also fast, thank God. Over all my day has been pretty up tight. And i'm more than hanging on.

Now i'm studying and so till then nighty night.

Today's convocation

Ron Luce encourages liberty students to be dreamers

Ron Luce, president and founder of Teen Mania Ministries, which sponsors the popular Acquire the Fire youth rallies, spoke at Wednesday’s convocation about the battle of dreams going on between the secular world and Christianity.

“The more in love with Jesus you fall, the more out of love with the world you fall because the world really has nothing,” he said.

Citing Ephesians 3:20, Luce said God gave Christians the ability to have a creative imagination and they must weed out the “dream killers,” such as the media, computers and the Internet, dumbed down reading and gossip magazines and people or family members who discourage dreams.

“They steal your dreams by stealing your time,” he said.

Luce went on to say Christians should be careful not to become paralyzed by the ordinary. He told students that 98 percent of people in the world follow culture and only 2 percent of people go out and shape the culture.

“Dreamers are not ordinary people, dreamers are people that shape the world. Dreamers are people who make a big change. They resist the ordinary,” he said.

Not only are there big dreamers such as Martin Luther King, Jr. and Steve Jobs, but he said there are dreamers who are out there to work against the will of God and there needs to be strong Christians to counter that movement.

“Step out of the normal boring path,” he said. “Are we not dreamers? Can we not dream God’s dream?”

He closed with a challenge for students: “Whether it's education, politics, entertainment — whatever realm you might go into — dream a dream for God.”
